I. PPE Manual - 7. GUI Commands - c. 3D-Viewer Widgets
Current Plane
With this widget, you set the position of the current plane (CWP).
-
XY, XZ, or YZ: Sets the CWP onto the plane defined by z=0, y=0 or x=0.
-
Thru points, offset: Sets the CWP, so that it is the best approximation for
all the selected vertices. Additionally, you can specify an offset to move it in a perpendicular direction.
-
Offset to point: This only moves the plane, without changing its direction.
The plane is the best approximation possible with the previous direction for
all the selected vertices.
When you click, the new position is calculated.
It doesn't change until the next time you click onto this widget.
Afterwards, the position is static.
For example: When you say thru points, the CWP changes, but when you then select other
vertices, it doesn't move.
Current Line
-
X, Y, Z: Set the current line onto the x, y or z-axis.
-
Thru Points: Sets the line, so that it is the best approximation for
all the selected vertices.
-
Offset to point:This only moves the line, without changing its direction.
The line is the best approximation possible with the previous direction for
all the selected vertices
Like "current plane", when you click, the new position is calculated.
Current Point
Origin sets the current point onto the origin.
Thru points sets the current point
onto the center of gravity of all the selected points. The current point is then the
best approximation of the selected vertices.
Like "current plane", when you click, the new position is calculated.
Persp/FOV
Allows you to set the field of view in degrees.
This zooms into and out of the display. The perspective distortion
gets larger or smaller according to your input. The effect is similar to using
different objectives on a camera. About 30 degrees fov is like a tele-lens,
60 is normal and 120 is like a fish-eye-lens. Therefore, this effect is different to "zooming
in/out" by moving closer/farther away from the object. Only affects things when the current 3D viewer is in perspective mode.
OrthoScale
This lets you zoom in/out when you are in an orthographic view.
FPS
Shows the current fps-rate (frames per second).
This shows you how fast your computer renders the current scene.
See also the frame rate limiter in the "view" menu.
